PUZZLING

I've always enjoyed working on crosswords.
However, I never imagined such a thing as a "cryptic"
crossword.

When I moved to Palo Alto back in 2001,
I took my dog Jazz on a walk to a local park where I
met Barry. He and I started talking about
crosswords, and he told about his friends
who meet on Saturday mornings for group work on
a cryptic crossword puzzle. I was intrigued and
starting meeting with them too.

Everyone in the cryptic crossword group is brilliant,
save me, and has taught me a few tricks of the trade.
So now I enjoy this type of crossword as well.
